The Common Good

The Production

The Common Good is the story of a fractured local community that lies on the outskirts of the Zone of Alienation – the 30 kilometre radius surrounding the town of Chernobyl from which the infamous power station took its name.

But more particularly, the tale is of four soldiers stationed in one of the local villages and focuses on their plight as they are forced to work in an environment where each breath draws them closer to death. The action takes place over several weeks in August, 1987 – one year and three months after the disaster first took place.

'The Common Good' was written by Warren Drew and is directed by Jaclyn McLoughlin, with production by Karin Suni.
